No Room at the Inn – When Hi-Fi Excellence Was Too Good!”

Max Townshend rocked the Hi-Fi News Show with a mind-blowing demonstration of seismic isolation, leaving audiophiles (including a certain Howard Popeck) in awe of the purest, most dynamic sound they’d ever heard. Praise flooded in, confirming what Max had known all along—vibration control is the missing link in high-end audio.

Naturally, Max wanted to return the following year to showcase his groundbreaking Townshend Tor speakers, Seismic Podiums, Glastonbury Preamp, Townshend Silver Disk Player and Fractal Speaker Cables again. But when he reached out to the organisers, expecting an enthusiastic invite, the response from Editor Paul Miller was short and sharp: “No room at the inn.”

Was it a scheduling issue? A biblical-level snub? Or maybe the sound was just too good, leaving other exhibitors nervous about the competition? We’ll never know for sure, but one thing’s certain—Max had already made his mark.

Because when you deliver earth-shaking innovation that silences the room (in the best way possible), some doors might close… but the legend of Townshend Audio keeps growing louder!

Letter from Howard Popeck: HFW Show 1/11/14:Dear Max, Sue and the team. Congratulations on producing one of the most viscerally exciting and engaging sound I have heard at any show during nearly 40 years of attending them. I have direct personal experience of the effort needed to deal with hotel room acoustics. What you achieved was outstanding and it’s not something I take for granted.

I write for HiFi Answers as you know. We are going to invite you to be interviewed again shortly.I can find time, as an aside to the interview I will publish my positive thoughts (because positive are the only thoughts re you achievement at Hi-Fi News Show
